MLO Reflective Narrative
I took an introductory course to Japanese cinema (JAPN 310) to fulfill this MLO requirement. During the semester I developed a deep understanding of the evolving aspects of Japanese culture. The films we watched covered myths, traditions, and beliefs. Modern day movies explained the Japanese affinity with technology and food. Older movies showcased the roles and importance of traditions and culture, such as the Samurais. The spectrum of movies we watched didn’t cover everything in extreme detail, but I did learn many of the basic values and ideals of the Japanese people throughout time.
